Harold Fairfax Prevost was a local businessman; he ran a stationers business for which he built the building that is now Just Jake’s Restaurant at 45 Craig Street.

He served as Mayor of Duncan during the early years of the Great Depression. He considered his major achievement as Mayor to have been keeping the City’s budget in balance during an era of falling tax revenues.
