As part of our Vancouver Island Masonic History Project, here is a page on George B. Montobio, a member of Vancouver & Quadra Lodge, No.2 in Victoria.

George B. Montobio (died 1889, aged 61) is buried in Ross Bay Cemetery, Victoria. His grave marker features a Square & Compasses and an Acacia tree. In our opinion it is one of the best examples of Masonic funeral art in Ross Bay Cemetery.

We are working on finding more information on George B. Montobio. At present all we know is what is on his grave stone. He died in Nanaimo, B.C. on 9 April 1889, aged 61 and he was born in Pieve di Sori, Italy.
