Buildings Associated With Freemasons – Victoria
1114-1126 Blanshard Street was designed and built in 1911-1912 by architect C. Elwood Watkins for Andrew Sheret (1870-1947), a member of Victoria-Columbia Lodge No. 1 in Victoria.
Andrew Sheret intended this building as a revenue producing commercial and residential apartment building. It still retains that original configuration today. 1114-1126 Blanshard Street was named the Montrose Apartments after Andrew Sheret’s birthplace in Montrose, Scotland.
It was listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places in 1995.
