This small building at 18 Robert Street, Ladysmith, B.C. was built circa 1900 and possibly before that. It is now a coffee shop called the Music Hall Food Company but it was originally the office and business premises of John Stewart, a Past Master of St. John’s Lodge, No.21 and a member of the first Ladysmith City Council after Ladysmith was incorporated in 1904.

The first Mayor of Ladysmith, John W. Coburn, was also a member of St. John’s Lodge. No. 21 and Ashlar Lodge, No.3.
