MASONIC INTERMENTS

ELI HODGSON PLASKETT

Brother Eli Hodgson Plaskett was Initiated, Passed and Raised in 1927 in Temple Lodge, No.33.

Here is Bro. Hodgson's obituary in the Cowichan Leader newspaper in April 1960.

"Eli Plaskett, 69, drove stage coach

A well-known Duncan resident, Eli Hodgson Plaskett, died Wednesday in King's Daughters' Hospital in his 69th year.

Born at Workington, England, he came to Canada 53 years ago and assisted his brother David, in a butcher shop business. He later drove for the livery stable between Duncan and Lake Cowichan and for Mr. Corbishley in the coal business.

For many years Mr. Plaskett was employed at the Cowichan Creamery and later became janitor at the Provincial Government offices.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; his cousin, Jame Evans, and several neices and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday from Hirst Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. W.F. Burns. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery, Somenos will follow.

During the services the hymn, Abide With Me, was sung.

Pallbearers were C.M. Bradley, J.T. Jenkinson, G.H. Hallett, G.F. Minkler, S.T. Evans, W.H. Chester."
