TEMPLE LODGE No.33

ANNOUNCEMENTS & UPCOMING EVENTS

As you may have noticed, we are gradually updating the appearance of the Temple Lodge, No.33 website. This will take some time to change individual pages to the new design so please bear with us while the website is a combination of new pages and pages with the older layout.

NEXT REGULAR MEETING: 13 October 2015, 7:30 pm at the Duncan Masonic Temple, 163 Canada Ave., Duncan, B.C.

UPCOMING DEGREES:

INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS: the Installation of Officers for 2015 was held at the Duncan Masonic Temple, 163 Canada Ave., Duncan, B.C. on Saturday, 11 April 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Please see our Lodge Officers page for the list of Installed Officers for 2015-16.

 

OTHER NEWS & EVENTS:

We regret to inform you that W. Bro. Ron Holcroft of Admiral Lodge, No. 170 and Tzouhalem Chapter, No.26 R.A.M. has passed to the Grand Lodge Above. W. Bro. Holcroft was a frequent visitor to Temple Lodge. The funeral will be held on 13 August 2015 at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 961 North End Road, Salt Spring Island. Interment in Purdy Cunningham Memorial Cemetery will follow the funeral service. see http://saltspringanglican.ca/calendar/ . Also See our In Memorium page.

We regret to inform you that R.W. Bro. Ron Henning of Malahat Lodge, No. 107 passed on 2 June 2015. R.W. Bro. Henning was a frequent visitor to Temple Lodge. See our In Memorium page.

RWB Dick Nesbitt and his wife Gwen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on 21 June 2015.

The Annual Temple Lodge BBQ was held at Malahat Lodge in Mill Bay on 26 July 2015. It was a successful event and the raffle raised some funds to assist the Josh Crawford family, (Josh is RWB Bob Crawford's son) who are dealing with a serious health issue in the family.

NEW TEMPLE LODGE LAPEL PIN:

Brother John Sargeant kindly supplied his photographic and imaging skills to spearhead our project to design a new Temple Lodge, No. 33 lapel pin. The new Temple Lodge lapel pins are now available.

NEW WEBSITE DESIGN:

As you may have noticed, we are gradually updating the appearance of the Temple Lodge, No.33 website. This page is an example of the new design. This will take some time to change individual older pages to the new design so please bear with us while the site is a combination of new pages and pages with the older layout. We will also be introducing new pages which automatically adjust to display on tablets and smart phones.

Please check out our new webpages about Suggested Readings & Research, Books By Masons and Music By Masons. Note that we have added links to Amazon.com, Amazon.ca and other worldwide Amazon sites to allow readers to link directly to Amazon sites to purchase books, CDs, DVDs and other products if they so desire. As far as we are aware, templelodge33.ca is the first Masonic Lodge website anywhere in the world to do this.

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Temple Lodge has set up a public Facebook group to spread information about the historic influence of Freemasonry in the area as well as other topics of interest. Anyone is free to join.

Temple Lodge, No. 33 is setting up a Fund Raising Committee to raise funds for building maintenance, charitable endeavours and other projects.

We have also set up a Facebook group for communications within the Fund Raising Committee. All Temple Lodge, No.33 Brethren are welcome to join this Facebook group.


Bro. Brad Galavan is the administrator of this Facebook group.


For those who want to participate in this Facebook group but who are not familiar with Facebook, here are the steps to becoming involved:

  1. Go on https://www.facebook.com/ ;
  2. If you’re not already registered on Facebook, set up an account using the dialog boxes in the upper right hand corner;
  3. Once you have a Facebook account, search the name Brad Galavan;
  4. Once you’ve found Brad Galavan, make a “Friend” request. You’ll see the icon to click on for this.
  5. That’s it. Brad Galavan will do the rest.

Please let us know if you have any trouble with this procedure.
