DECEASED BRETHREN - VANCOUVER ISLAND CEMETERIES

GEOFFREY ARTHUR JOHN VANTREIGHT

Fig.1 Geoffrey Vantreight grave marker, St. Luke's

Geoffrey Arthur John Vantreight (1 January 1924 - 13 May 2000) was a member of Vancouver Quadra Lodge, No.2 in Victoria, B.C.

He ran Vantreight Farms, now known as Longview Farms, which is best known for its daffodil growing operations.

The epitaph on his gravestone is taken from William Wordsworth's poem Daffodils, and reads:

"I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er dales and hills.

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host of golden daffodils."

We will add more information about Geoff Vantreight in the future.
