George Broadfoot

At present we do not know a lot about Brother George Broadfoot.

Temple Lodge records show that Brother George Broadfoot, age 33, occupation: Clerk, made a Petition for Affiliation which was received at the Regular Lodge meeting of 13 May 1913 and the following Investigating Committee appointed:  Bros. Roland Fawcett, Ormond T. Smythe and J. Islay Mutter.

His application was balloted on and he was duly elected a member of Temple Lodge, No. 33 by Initiation in June 1913. Brother Broadfoot seems to disappear from Temple Lodge records in 1922-23 and we currently do not know what happened to him.

Here is the information we have uncovered so far about Brother George Broadfoot. We will post more information on Brother Broadfoot as we discover it.

 

Here is what we know about Brother George Broadfoot from Temple Lodge, No. 33 records:

"....A petition was received from Bro. George Broadfoot for membership of this Lodge by affiliation. The applicant states that he was born at Stonehouse, Scotland, his age being 33 years, occupation Clerk,  resides at Duncan, B.C. was made in Commercial Lodge, No. 360 of Glasgow, Scotland.


Certificate of the Grand Lodge of Scotland was attached to the Petition – which stated that the brother was a member of Lodge No. 360 Commercial, Glasgow, the certificate being dated 4th April 1903. The usual fee of $5.00 was also attached.


The applicant is recommended by  Bro. Senior Warden and Bro. M.K. MacMillan.


It was moved by Bro. Junior Warden, seconded by Bro. D. Plaskett that the petition be received and the usual investigating committee appointed. The motion was declared carried.


The Worshipful Master appointed on this committee –  Bro. R.C. Fawcett,  Bro. O.T. Smythe [and] Bro. J.I. Mutter...."
