Here is a brief biographical sketch of Brother Joseph Price from his obituary and the report of his funeral the Cowichan Leader newspaper:

 “Price – A resident of Duncan since 1938, Mr. Joseph Price, aged 79, died at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, on Friday.


Born in Penmaenmawr, Wales, he came to Canada in 1911 taking up residence in Saskatoon. Mr. Price later resided at Humboldt, Macklin, Sask., and Bashaw and Vegreville, Alta.

He came to Duncan in 1938 and was well known as a watchmaker and jeweller. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.


He was predeceased by his wife, the late Margaret Jane, in 1941.


Mr. Price is survived by two sons, Joseph Leslie, Penticton, and John Edgar, Port Alberni; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; two sisters and two brothers in England and Wales.


Funeral services were held at Hirst Funeral Chapel on Monday conducted by the Rev. Brian T. Page. The hymn sung was ‘Abide With Me.’


Pallbearers were Messrs. Clayton Wright, jun., Thomas McEwan, W.T. Evans, E. Davis, J. McCrea and J.E. Whittaker.


Interment was in the family plot, St. Peter’s Anglican churchyard.”
